  • REPLACING SUGAR WITH STEVIA

The typical response to the information on how harmful sugar really is, at least  among those of us that are “ health-minded but sweet-tooths” is to look for healthy sugar substitutes.

I’d always turned to stevia. However the other night was on a conference call with Dr. Ann de Wees Allen, a scientist who has done some amazing work related to the glycemic index. She mentioned that she wouldn’t touch stevia with a ten foot pole!

Looks like the whole plant (stevia is actually an herb) isn’t bad, but especially here in America we process and refine everything, and in that state stevia isn’t so great. This is the first I’d ever heard on this subject, so found an article on possible  dangers of stevia . Check it out!
